Picket County Football Parade at Picket Care and Rehab

The Elders of Pickett Care and Rehabilitation Center rode in a football parade on September 4, 2015. We worked all week to create shirts, signs and the float decorations. Our Elders threw candy and waved at everyone during the parade. They all had a great time!

During the months of June and July, we held our annual Camp Pickett. The elders always enjoy this time of year when the kids come to visit. Here are some picture that were taken during the last two months.

Signature residents ‘catch a wave to adventure’ on Florida trip

“You never get too old to enjoy life,” said a 91-year-old Signature resident who traveled to Panama City Beach, Fla. earlier this year, the fourth consecutive year Signature has taken groups of residents on vacation. Nursing Home Week – Pickett Care Goes to the Circus

Picket Care and Rehabilitation Center celebrated nursing home week with a circus. We had different activities that related to a circus and ended it with the Big Top Circus on Friday.

We had games with different prizes to win. Residents enjoyed corndogs, cotton candy, and snow cones during the festivities. Two clowns even visited to spread more cheer.

Spirituality LearnFEST draws crowd for virtual learning conference

More than 1,000 Signature staff members registered for the recent Spirituality LearnFEST, a virtual learning conference that encouraged participants to consider the impact of spirituality, if fully activated, in a long-term care environment.

And that number doesn’t even include the many who joined in groups, in offices, breakrooms and wherever there were TVs or computers at Signature centers across 10 states to view the live broadcast. The event featured sessions that tied spirituality to numerous aspects of long-term care and health care, from clinical care to legislative involvement and the impact of spirituality in the workplace.
